Willie Thrasher is a singer-songwriter from Aklavik, Northwest Territories. At 5 years of age he was taken from his family and sent to a residential school. For Thrasher, music has been a way to reconnect with his Inuvialuit culture, raise awareness, inspire others, and bring people of all backgrounds together. Today, Willie performs his heartbeat sound with his singing partner Linda Saddleback.
